“The ACEL Presidential Citation 2025 is conferred upon Dr Lyn Sharratt in recognition of her exceptional work, research, and profound impact on practice and educational leadership in Australia and internationally. Her steadfast support for ACEL over many years is acknowledged and valued most highly. Dr Sharratt has been a wonderfully generous, influential and significant contributor to Professional Learning programs, signature events, research initiatives, and an extensive range of publications. Furthermore, her enduring emphasis on "Putting FACES on the Data'' and “CLARITY” in “learning, teaching, and leading” has become firmly embedded in the professional lexicon of educators across Australia and beyond. Collectively, this body of work stands as a remarkable and enduring legacy.
Dr Sharratt has dedicated her career to turning cutting-edge research into practical guidance for system and school leaders. With her extensive experience and expertise, she has developed a unique roadmap for education leaders to utilise ongoing assessment to inform instruction and drive equity at all levels of the education system. Her work has been recognised nationally and internationally, and her insights and strategies have transformed countless classrooms, schools, districts, and even entire education systems. Her notable publications include CLARITY: What Matters MOST in Learning, Teaching & Leading (Corwin, 2019), Putting FACES on The Data (10th Anniversary Edition, with Michael Fullan, Corwin, 2022), and Learning to Listen and Listening to Learn: Empowering Visible Clarity, with John Hattie, (Corwin, 2025).
