French Language Support for the CLARITY Essentials Suite
May 14, 2025, marked a first-ever event for the CLARITY message and the CLARITY Learning Suite (CLS). Dr. Lyn Sharratt with Knowledgeable Other, Diane Ouellette, showcased her CLARITY work and launched the new French language adaptation of CLARITY Essentials Suite to almost one hundred French first- language Principals and school team leaders in Trois Rivieres in the Province of Quebec, Canada.
The day’s presentation by Lyn was simultaneously translated by two professionals to an outstandingly positive response including a heart-felt standing ovation. Lyn told the participants and wrote online that “What makes this day’s event important is that in Canada, which has two official first languages, this is the first time CLARITY has been delivered not as a direct translation but as very real adaptation of the content in French. It is our CLS commitment to the two languages.” Diane, who knows the CLARITY work well from having worked with Lyn extensively while in her leadership role in Prince Edward Island, spent almost a year developing the new French language version of the CLARITY Learning Suite and CLARITY Essentials, which was the basis of the day’s event in Trois Rivieres. Diane’s work, which often depended on collaborating on specific meanings with other French speaking colleagues, goes beyond any textbook translation to capture the nuance of French in the school and classroom.
