Lyn Sharratt provides Clarity – Press Release

July 4th 2022

On June 13th Ysgol Rhiwabon Staff, Students and Governors were proud to host Dr. Lyn Sharratt, Wrexham Headteachers and senior staff as part of a Teaching and Learning Conference at the school.

Dr. Lyn Sharratt is based at the University of Toronto in Canada and she has been leading a Collaborative Learning Project in Wales, based on her world-wide research and her book ‘Clarity’, What Matters most in Learning, Teaching and Leading, Corwin, 2019.

Her visit to Ysgol Rhiwabon was an opportunity for her to meet Leaders from across Wrexham and the local region, and across all jurisdictions in Wales, to discuss how her work has been implemented in schools during the last three years.

During the day she showcased her ideas around Learning Walks and Talks. She, along with other visitors to the school, visited eight classrooms and looked at how her ideas have been developed in Ysgol Rhiwabon. Detailed discussion followed and schools worked collaboratively to share their work and ideas.

Mrs Melanie Ferron Evans, Headteacher said,

‘’It was a privilege to host Dr. Lyn Sharratt in Ysgol Rhiwabon and for her to work with colleagues in the Wrexham area to celebrate excellent teaching and learning ideas. I was very proud of the welcome Lyn received from our students and staff.
We are also delighted that she plans to use some of the work from our school in her future research presentation and worldwide publications’’.
